4. History of cold sores.
If treatment will involve areas near the lips or mouth , chin and you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, please tell your provider before treatment. Injectable procedures may trigger a recurrence, and antiviral prophylaxis may be considered when appropriate.
5. Alcohol and bruising.
If medically appropriate, consider avoiding alcohol for approximately 24 hours before treatment because it may increase bruising or swelling.
6. Stay hydrated.
Drink fluids normally before your appointment unless you have been instructed to restrict fluids for another medical reason.
7. Reschedule if you are ill or have an active infection.
Please contact Elcin Aesthetics before your appointment if you develop fever, significant illness, dental infection, active cold sore, or infection/inflammation near the treatment area.

Avoid unnecessary touching of the injection sites.
Use clean hands when applying skincare.
Avoid strenuous exercise for approximately 24 hours, particularly if you are experiencing swelling or bruising.
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid excessive heat such as:

Consider avoiding alcohol for approximately 24 hours after treatment, especially if you are prone to bruising.
Use gentle skincare while the injection sites are healing.
Avoid irritating products directly over recently treated areas if they sting or cause irritation.
This may include temporarily holding:
Retinoids
Exfoliating acids
Scrubs
Strong active skincare
Restart these products once the skin is comfortable and injection sites have healed, or according to your individualized instructions.
Avoid applying makeup over open or actively bleeding injection sites.
Once injection sites have closed and the skin is comfortable, makeup can generally be resumed.
You may:
Sleep with your head slightly elevated
Use a clean, cool compress gently if recommended

Avoid rubbing or massaging unless instructed
Allow swelling time to settle naturally.
During Your Appointment
A small amount of blood will be drawn and processed to prepare your PRF.
Depending on the treatment area and plan, PRF may then be injected using a needle or cannula.
You may feel:
Pressure
Pinching
Stinging
Tenderness
Temporary fullness
Numbing may be used depending on the treatment area and technique. The treated area may initially look more swollen or prominent than the final result.
Temporary injection-related reactions are common.
You may experience:
Swelling
Bruising
Redness
Tenderness
Mild soreness
Temporary firmness
Small bumps at injection sites
Mild asymmetry caused by swelling
Published facial PRF/PRP literature generally describes adverse effects as mild and temporary, most commonly bruising, swelling, or injection-site reactions.
The under-eye area is especially prone to swelling.
You may notice:
Puffiness
Temporary fullness
Bruising
Mild tenderness
Uneven appearance from swelling
Swelling may look more noticeable in the morning and can temporarily make the under-eye area appear fuller before it improves.
Do not judge your final result during the early swelling period.
PRF works gradually by supporting your body’s natural regenerative processes. You may notice early changes within a few weeks, but improvement can continue to develop over approximately 6–12 weeks as the treated tissue remodels.
For some patients, especially when treating the under-eye area or overall skin quality, the most noticeable result may continue evolving over 2–3 months.
A series of treatments is often recommended, so your final result may depend on the number of sessions completed, treatment area, age, skin quality, and individual response.
I would avoid promising a single exact “final result” date because PRF response varies and the evidence does not support one universal timeline for every patient.
After a full consultation , we find most paFor optimal results, we typically recommend starting with a series of 3–4 PRF treatments, spaced according to your treatment plan and the area being treated.
After completing your initial series, many patients choose a maintenance treatment every 6–12 months to help support ongoing skin quality and regenerative goals.
Your ideal treatment schedule may vary depending on your age, skin quality, treatment area, goals, and individual response to PRF.
PRF works gradually. Early changes may be noticeable within a few weeks, with continued improvement developing over approximately 6–12 weeks after treatment.
Because PRF is often performed as a series, your overall result may continue to evolve throughout the course of your treatments and for several months afterward.
Typical plan:
3–4 initial treatments → maintenance every 6–12 months
Swelling that is severe, progressively worsening, or not beginning to improve as expected
Increasing redness rather than gradual improvement
Increasing warmth
Increasing or significant pain
Pus or unusual drainage
Fever or chills
A spreading rash
Hives
Significant or persistent asymmetry after the expected swelling period
New blistering or open sores
Cold-sore or herpes-like lesions
Any unusual skin discoloration
Any symptom that concerns you or is worsening rather than improving
Seek urgent medical evaluation for:
Difficulty breathing
Severe swelling of the lips, tongue, face, or throat
Sudden vision changes
Significant eye pain
Severe or rapidly escalating pain
Marked blanching, dusky discoloration, or other concerning skin-color changes
Any severe or rapidly progressing reaction
Your skin may feel temporarily sensitive after treatment.
A gentle skincare routine can help support the skin while it recovers. Depending on your skin and treatment area, we may recommend:
Gentle cleanser
Barrier-supporting moisturizer
Hyaluronic acid for hydration when appropriate
Peptide-containing skincare when appropriate
Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen

FDA patient guidance specifically identifies vision changes and stroke-like symptoms as reasons to seek immediate medical attention after dermal filler treatment.
Do not wait for a routine office response if you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
These instructions provide general guidance and do not replace individualized medical advice, informed consent, examination, or instructions given by your treating clinician. Recommendations may vary depending on your medical history, filler product, treatment area, injection technique, and procedure performed.
